  • Amanda (from Flourish Kitchen Gardens) was engaged to design a vertical garden on the western wall of my 2 -story home. Amanda came to my home within a week of discussing my desire to beautify my home by designing a vertical garden on a bland wall space with limited afternoon sun, being adjacent to the neighbouring home. The wall also suffers intense heat in the summer and I was looking for a natural solution to shading the wall and reducing the heat to the musical instruments that are mounted on the inside of that wall. Amanda’s solution was climbing natives on rusting reinforcing fabric secured to the brick wall. A planter box positioned at a height to gain best sunlight whilst still providing access to herbs also planted in the feature planter box. Amanda was quick to do a site inspection and the following week returned to present her plan. Some selections of options followed and the installation took place that weekend. Amanda’s plan included plant options, soil mixture, drainage instructions, and colourful drawings with dimensions. I was and am very happy with her work and highly recommend her to anybody wanting a garden design.
